I'm through chasing rabbits

Mar 15, 2008 15:50

I'm falling far behind you, but you won't close the gap.

The hole you made, the deep charade, the cold and clever trap.

You burrowed far, you burrowed deep, and now I'm buried in.

A soft caress, a whispered word, a trembling within.

The door is shrinking fast, and I forgot the key

Somehow I must avoid your lust, avoid what wakens me.

Within your world, I've lost myself, and found a souless dream

What hopes might hold, what thoughts might think, are less than they would seem.

The words I craved could soon turn sour, no doubt you'd give them then

and now I know, it goes to show, that here I cannot win

What well was seeded, never completed, how rooted it has grown.

All time would tell, I was doomed to fail, once your world became my own.
