Heh. I was there in 2001. Loved it. And I definitely plan on going back when I get the chance. they were building the Colisseum for Celine's show when we were there. And there were only 2 Cirque du Soleil shows at the time: Mystere (which we didn't see) and "O", which we did. And it was fabulous. So worth the money. Next time I go, I'm taking the bus tour to the Hoover Dam and the Grand Canyon. Cause we spent our time seeing all the hotels. Didn't gamble much, though. Glad you had an interesting experience. ;)
I condense a lot into my silly posts; I did have a good time, though. There's a Cirque show in every hotel, now! And yes, next time I really want to see the outside of the city, the Grand Canyon and the dam. Totally.
I've always been curious and equally frightened to go there. I loved your description, esp. it being like a giant bowl of Fruit Loops. But I think you are right, I should try to go there at least once in my life. I know that they do Improv All-Stars shows there, which would be a swell reason.
If only to get some perspective on how tragic it is that about one square mile in this desert bowl has enough money to feed Africa, and to show you a good time.
