I'm feeling pretty shitty right now. I managed to get them to push it from an 18mth waiting to a 3 mth waiting today by being hysterical at westmead Hospital. thats good news. bad news is they will just remove the tooth. they did an xray and say the nerve is so close to the split its not going to be possible to save the tooth. public health are ( Read more... )

By the time he is going to school, other children will be losing their teeth anyways. So it wont be so obvious. My biggest fear is that i will feel like a failure as a parent untill the adult tooth grows. Even though i KNOW that this tooth is weakened and there is nothing i can do. I still feel responsible. I have put it aside for now though, or i will drive myself insane.

plus he already looks funny. lol. xx s

I don't know what to say Momma dear.. sighs.. We are going through something similar as we try to decide if Cole should have a sedated MRI.. originally they wanted a bone scan but the hospital is reserving those for the worst affected patients.. now an MRI which is what we wanted originally. As we believe it's tendons and ligaments.. but.. Cole appears to be getting a little bit better... so do we do the test? It is sedation after all.. and he is not quite 18 mos.. or what? uggh.. I hate these huge decisions. :(

So.. I am with you on this one my friend.. being a mommy is tough work. hugs.. love you!

I think i have gotten over the worst of the "they are going to mutilate my baby!" feelings. I have decided to leave it till i have the date, as i will probably see things differently then, like his tooth just seems to me to be worsening everyday. and im trying not to traumatise him by brushing his teeth every 3 seconds.

The rest of his mouth is fine and showing now signs of decay so its just this one tooth. well two really, its possible there may be another one that will come down.

i will be having the anaesthetic panic in a few months too im sure.
