    If you want to use your cards in Japan, make sure you go into a bank branch and tell them that you will be in Japan from this date to this date and might be using it. That way, they won't just randomly cancel it because they think it's been stolen, leaving you stuck in Japan!

    Have a great time over there ^_^/! Oh yeah, the bank machines talk to you, it is weird! And eat at Tenya for the yummiest, cheapcheapcheap tempura mmmm!

    When are you going back to Portsmouth? If you're still around for a few days do you fancy meeting up at some point? I've been totally rubbish at organising anything over Easter so I'm sorry I didn't get in touch with you sooner, been getting distracted by anything and everything!! ^_^;;

    In any case, it sounds like you've had a cool and eventful holiday. Happy Easter to you too!! :)

    As Heff said, make sure you tell the bank you'll be in Japan or they could stop your card(s) after one use. Big retail chains now commonly take Visa/Mastercard, although cash is still more useful. My PROTIP goes to the post office though, their ATMs have full English instructions and you can withdrawl up to your UK daily limit using a European Cirrus/Maestro card, perfect for emergencies.

    I need to get some TCs in this coming week, wouldn't want to see the exchange rate plummet D:
