I wanna know what I've been doing to myself to possibly dream about a Matrix/Trauma Center x-over...more on that in a minute.
Man it's been forever since I posted on here, but I figure I might as well stop lurking and inject a bit of life into my journal.
I recently graduated with a bachelors of science from the Art Institutes International in Media Arts and Animation. I'm still hunting for a job, but I got a few leads, hopefully some will go somewhere. Meantime I've just been focusing on keeping my skills sharp. I'm still drawing and doing illustration stuff. Been thinking about maybe doing commissions again after the holidays. I've been learning how to color stuff with Adobe Illustrator, I have to say it's good fun. A lengthier process but I just love how the finished product looks! I've been working on a big one for that, but dunno if I'll get around to it again.
I've done a bit of freelance work designing business cards and posters for a guy I know at work who runs his own small business. Its a company called Level-Up Games in South St. Paul. They have so many awesome retro games and rare finds there. I went in there to collect a bill but wound up walking out with about twenty bucks worth of merch. hahah oops! Couldn't help myself.
Unfortunately a few of my 3D files got corrupted when I was transferring crap over from my external drive to my laptop. So some of the projects I had to finish for Allina had to be pushed back a bit since a couple of those got damaged =/ lame and I feel bad for doing so but I hope to finish the last animation for them before the end of the month. I just wish my computer was a bit faster at rendering. This is why I need a beefy desktop over the laptop. Laptop is nice, but it's not too powerful.
I've been working on a side project as well. I wanted to give character modeling/rigging another shot again. So I'm working on a rp character of mine. I'll post up pics when I'm done with the modeling phase.
I've been playing a lot of Steam games such as Team Fortress 2 and Left 4 Dead 2. Havin a lot of fun doing it and would like some more people to play with to. ID aquasnake08 I also seem to be very much back into Bioshock for some reason. God I could play that game forever, I still get goosepimples from it and I rec it to ANYONE who still believes in using games as a storytelling medium.
I've also been having weird ass dreams as of late, like every other night almost but this one was a real doozy and probably adds why I wouldn't ever make a good doctor/paramedic. I know a couple of people on my f-list can appreciate this one...warning major geekery ahead.
I had a dream where the Smith virus from The Matrix became like a contagious pathogen that would infect people in the real world and if they died it would pretty much let him cross over which obviously wouldn't be a good thing. And it was weird because I like entered a simulation much like surgery in the trauma center games (for those of you who don't know what I mean click here-
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Xu3lzsW4vU )
So I was treating a person who was infected with the virus in her lungs (IDK why) and like there were several cuts within the lungs and a weird red rash or something that would send out these black things. You had to stitch up the lacerations really fast before they could enter them but if they did the wound would just rip open and be coated with a silvery substance which would cause the patient to flatline and you had to resuscitate them by pumping their heart manually. (ew).
Not only that but it would go to a portion where the camera would switch to the interior of the lung and you had to eliminate all traces of the virus within the wound within like a 30 second time limit (which was really frustrating) and with each subsequent sequence the time would be less and less. So after having to do that about four freakin times for whatever reason it decided to stop registering my stitches despite how many times I did it! I just started panicking and was pretty much like eff it when two more patients came in.
I totally wouldn't be able to handle a high pressure situation, so much for being an EMT.
What the hell am I even on IDK...
Man I tell you though, I miss my college buddies hardcore. One already moved away and our get-togethers just aren't the same. I miss her terribly, especially her laugh and how I could just be a complete geek around her and not even worry about it.
I'm gonna miss the other two even more when they move to Cali ;__; I love you guys! Fr Srs!
Well I suppose that's it for the time being. Hope you all have a great Thanksgiving.
