Have found my home for the next 5-6 years: UNSW. It's campus is love. I went to USyd last week and felt intimidated, but UNSW makes me feel comfortable. Definitely the place for me.

Welcome! Which faculty will you be enrolling in?

I'll be doing Architecture, so I guess I'll be going into the Faculty of the Built Environment.

Part of me wonders if USyd's prestige is worth more than the 'comfort' of UNSW still. :( But I have a few months yet.

Indeed! It's so much easier to just be yourself, and excel, in a place you're comfortable in, I find!

It's great that you've found somewhere you really want to go! I hope you get in (I'm sure you will).

Though I'm only in year 11, I've already picked my University -- funnily enough it supposedly has the second-highest reputation of universities in the country...

UNSW! *cheers* How was the Open Day?

Although I am scared - my internals are crap, so even if I kill the externals, I probably won't get the 83 I need for Media & Comms.

I think, ultimately, it'd be hard to adapt to an environment that has more prestige, versus a place where you feel comfortable. It makes for a little less motivation sometimes.

Kensington campus? I've never been there, although I did swing by COFA a few weekends ago ...

Ooh. Open Day. *thinks* It was rainy, but awesome fun!

But if you've done the right subjects for Media & Comm, doesn't UNSW give you extra credits for it?

I don't know. I think I could manage the 'prestige' that comes with it, because the whole elitism that seems attaches itself to Ruse makes me miss that. But then, as my brother says, all the universities in Australia aren't that flash compared to International standards, so UNSW/USyd shouldn't make much of a difference..

COFA! I was wanting to do major in Art Theory for a combined Arts/Architecture degree, but no double degrees for architecture next year :(
