I am waaaay too easily amused
Toys! I love toys! And geeky candies! Or stickers! Or shirts! And I want to share.
My mother and I love The Cubes. We are especially fond of Eve, the sensitivity trainer. Turns out that you can order these wonderful toys...from Target! Who knew?
ThinkGeek has been rolling out new Firefly/Serenity stuff. There's a Jayne t-shirt and a Blue Sun shirt advertised in today's email. (I claim no responsibility for how much Firefly I watched while sick.)
ThinkGeek also caught my attention with colored-flame candles. Even if I think it would be that much cooler to have the candles themselves be different colors, too. Today's "wow if I had a bundle of cash - really don't need it, very much want it" toy? The mini doughnut maker. Took me back to a story excerpt in a children's humor anthology I have at home, although for the life of me, I can't remember the name of the book from which it came.
And it turns out there's this store called Archie McPhee - they claim to have a store in Seattle. (meestagoat, do you know anything about this?) They have the most fantastic action figures, including Oscar Wilde. And...in the realm of the disturbing...gummy candies as unusual as banana slugs (if you don't know my story about slugs, feel free to ask) and rubber chickens. This place is basically the sum of my favorite family inside jokes, with some awesome science fun and duckies tossed in. If I had money, I would probably send every one of you something from this site. Seriously.
