Recipe help?

Okay, fellow foodies: my friend hosts a "Thanksgiving in July" party every year, and it's Saturday. I have no idea what I want to bring. In the past, I've made my mom's candied yams (with bourbon and brown sugar :-9) and pine nut stuffing - maybe also pumpkin piñon bread. butternut squash mac and cheese. very tasty (relatively healthy), it's quick, easy, and minimal work! if you're interested, i'll email you the recipe.

I am sitting at my work desk, finishing up take out dinner that I obtained after a painful walk through 40-50MPH winds...

...and the power flickered *just* enough that the PCR machine freaked out. (Even though it says it's done.) The weather station website says we're down to 88F for the moment and have gotten ~1 mm in the half hour since I got back to my desk.

Yeah, that pineapple idea is sounding REALLY good about now. ;-)

All I have to say is that the other night, I dreamt it was Thanksgiving. I was disappointed to wake up and discover there was no turkey.
