well, you're talking about aesthetics, a concept which is always relative, so it's kind of a moot point.

when people say "she could be so pretty, if...", what they really mean is "I think she would be pretty, if...". Again, that's another useless point because their idea of beauty may not sync with that girl's idea of beauty and so changing her to suit that person is useless.

So... I like your picture.

It's the idea that people would think that beauty is ruined simply by cutting hair "too short".

Beauty, just like any other externality, can be overdone, exploited to the point of being disgusting, or simply flawed with oversight. Take a classic example from my own experience: the skirt. A female acquaintance, while wearing a short skirt in the house, looked dazzling--she had these long legs that complimented her figure perfectly, which were duly complimented by the short skirt. Going out into public, though, would make her instantly self-aware and insecure, immediately ruining the skirt and any affects that it had on her. Comfort and confidence with the look--no matter what it may be--are the foundations of beauty.

I think that something has the potential to be beautiful and is generally ruined by someone simply unable to come to terms with it. I also reject an entirely relativistic aesthetics (Burke's example of Ogleby and Milton come to mind immediately).

Still, you've produced a brilliant piece of work there. I am thoroughly impressed.

I REALLY love this one
More than the last few you've done
I think I want to see you do some more black and whites because two of my favorites are this one and the picture of Sean.
Whatever, and the song is Metric right?

The song is metric, this is physical work rather than digital.
