He is so pretty, and he's looking so very sly about something.

Thanks -- and yes, I think he was trying to figure out how to get away from my camera ;)

Finally, old enough to vote and buy cigarettes!

He's a handsome fellow~ I love reptiles, and if I had the room and the money to dedicate myself to one, I would (though I'd love a frog terrarium). Well, there's that whole 'feeding bugs' thing I'd have to get over. Ah well, there are tons of wild lizards around (and on) the house, so I'll just enjoy them.

Yes, it's not a cheap habit for sure, if you want to do it properly.

Looking into proper heating lamps and good-sized tanks, my wallet at the time shuddered in fear. Not to mention the difficulty in finding a vet nearby that specializes in reptiles.

Yes, I'm very lucky that way. Frodo's vet isn't 5 minutes from our house. And I commend you for realizing you aren't ready for such a big commitment -- most people take the plunge and then find out afterwards that it's too much. Or worse -- they don't do any research before they buy and wind up killing whatever it is within weeks.

Happy Birthday, Frodo! 18 years - time to look for a spouse :)

Better still -- time to go out and get a job to help support all Mommy's expensive hobbies!

LOL. He looks rather wise. Happy birthday, Frodo! In three years, you'll be old enough to move into Bag End.

Do you know how long his species lives?

Thanks! And yes, you're right. I must remind him to keep on the lookout for pesky wizards!

If well cared for, iguanas can live up to 25 years in captivity.
