on my mini, surfing

Long time no update. I still read everyone’s entries, but comment even less than I used to, and I don’t seem to have the energy to sit down and make as many updates as I probably should.

MiniI suppose the biggest development in the past month is that I got a new Mini Cooper. Well, I should say that I leased one. I was a bit worried about the ( Read more... )

wow. congrats on the car, and on being able to surf on a fairly regular basis. living in manhattan's not so conducive to either...another reason i need to move!

oh, and Guero is great- i just got it on Sunday and am loving it. I also have Kafka on the Shore lined up...if only i had more free time to read, i would!

Living in Manhattan definitely has its perks though, I still miss it from time to time.

Yah, working full time basically means LJ goes to hell... oh well. The idea of posting your life on a webpage does seem kinda silly when I have a mortgage payment. I guess this is what being an "adult" is all about.

Lexus is a good book, if you've not read his other stuff I recommend it... I've been meaning to pick up the new one about the flat-ness of the world.

anyway, back to work... bla bla bla, still hate my job, but it pays for the new place, so I guess I can't complain.

oh, yes... last night was another $300 at Home Depot.

I'm still 18 months behind you. Although with real estate prices on this island there's no way I can afford a mortgage payment in any livable place for a while.

we are too alike;
i too, am currently driving my mother's mini cooper whenever i can. i can normally get away with driving it everywhere. i just borrowed Murakami's new book this morning from the library, and i am currently listening to Andrew Bird as we speak.

i also plan on engaging in a c-span drinking game as soon as school is over :)

C-SPAN drinking game? It's probably the only tolerable way to watch C-SPAN

I have a feeling you're gonna like Kafka on the Shore. It's quite the departure..

I hope so. A lot of his novels seem to have the same sort of tone after a while. Perhaps that is just his style, but I sometimes want something different.

It must be nice to be able to drive without worrying about random old people obliviously walking into your path.

Man you could probably buy two cars and a house with the way exchange rates are...
