“My gods,” Ellen giggled, “I can’t believe what a wet blanket Laura Roslin is! She and Bill are going to get along just fine, I can tell.”
“How so? Whoops!” Saul stumbled against his wife knocking her into the bulkhead.
She tugged on his uniform, turning him to face her.
“Because,” she kissed him once, twice, “she’s just as stuffy and formal as Bill is. Hell, as Lee too.” she paused as she wrapped a leg around him and slid her hand down under his collar “They’re the traditional, quintessentially dull, boring family. Mr. and Mrs. Dull-and-Prissy, and little Dull-and-Prissy Junior.”
Saul snorted. “Where’s that booze?”
Ellen took a swig before handing him the bottle.
“Hey!”
“Holder’s fee,” she teased. “Laura wouldn’t even have one tiny, itsy-bitsy drink. What a killjoy!”
“To Laura Roslin,” Saul proposed solemnly, and passed the alcohol to his wife.
“To Laura Roslin,” she agreed.
They burst out laughing.
Ellen ran her fingers lightly over his head.
“I think she and Bill deserve each other,” she said wickedly. “Maybe they could help each other out.”
“What do you mean?“
“What they both really need,” Ellen draped her other arm around his neck, “is a good frak.”
Saul’s jaw dropped. “You’re not suggesting…”
“Why not?”
“Roslin and Bill?” he spluttered.
“The release of tension could only do them good.” She paused to consider her husband, who was fumbling for his flask. “Why darling, you’re rather beet colored.”
“I may be pretty well sauced, but I’m not anywhere drunk enough to be having this conversation.” He drained the contents in one long swig. “And I sure as hell don’t want to remember it in the morning.”
“Oh, all right, I’ll drop it. But only because,” she pulled him towards their rack, “I don’t want you to forget this.”
