Gaius wondered if he should have been expecting this interrogation sooner. Obviously his judgement before the court was a show for the public- now the president has had him brought to the admiral's quarters in order to carry out the real sentence.
Her whole body was tense as she stood before him, one hand clutching at her elbow.
"Tell me," she growled. "Did your cylon detector ever work?"
The topic threw him, and he was wary of a quick response. She had a look on her face like she wanted to wrap her fingers around his neck and squeeze until she strangled the sounds she wanted from his vocal cords.
"Yes," his voice came out higher pitched then he hoped.
"Tell me," Roslin practically roared. "How Sharon Valleri passed that test. How someone, could have passed that test."
Buckling under her uncharacteristic display of fury, he stammered an answer. "There uh, may have been problems- with some of the, uh early tests."
"As in the ones done on the leaders of this fleet?"
There had been no problems, but this was the easier answer. Saying he blatantly lied about results would probably result in another trial, one he might not survive. He'd been protecting himself when it came to Sharon, and with Adama's.. Well, it wasn't like he was exactly given the opportunity to collect another blood sample after the man ordered his own test canceled. He'd grabbed a random one from the tray, and figured that the odds would be with him that William Adama was just another human. There was simply no need to admit this sleight of hand.
"I'm sure, Madame President, that by now, you'd be aware of whether or not you were a cylon."
"Get out," her voice was deathly soft.
Gaius scurried for freedom.
