Yesterday was the final session of Education, this term's society game. It was awesome. The game ended by us defeating a Big Bad (tm) with a Big Ritual (tm) which actually fit the game world and plot (mainly because when you have so many clichés already in the game, one big one at the end doesn't matter so much ( Read more... )

In all fairness I think there is a fair amount of credit to Bernie. it was very good to have a focal point to go to for information. People occasionally came up to me and said "We've found this out." And I'd just say "That's nice. Go tell bernie and martel".

And it has to be said that for every spare pillar that was destoryed I suspect there was one clamp that wasn't. You put me in charge of dealing with them and I only know of two expeditions to deal with them. I suspect a combination of first years, third years and cabbages dealt with the others. :)

Bernie was great though. She got stuff organised. :)

No, the clamps were definitely player action. Everything that happened was player action, I can vouch for that both on my own experience (I was collecting info for Bernadette's clipboard) and the fact that the CAMPO is on my sofa and can be prodded for confirmation.

Fair enough. The reason I thought that is that last I heard we didn't even know where the fourth clamp was and hadn't sent anybody out to the third clamp. I guess I just wasnt getting told what was going on. Thinking about it I suspect that the third one may have been dealt with as it was found (I believe people were expecting a tentacles there at one point) and its possible that another group bumped into the last clamp while off doing other stuff...

Anyway, I dont care, even if it did go wrong ,it was absolutely awesome. :) as I said to housemate it was possibly the best last session of a society game that I can remember (and feel free to pass that on to your sofa).

I never knew where one of the clamps were, but gods, seers and the university all said it had been dealt with.

The other one you're missing is probably the Alchemy one, which was possibly a tentacle thing, possibly a clamp.

I think the best bit about the clipboard is that it took on a life of its own (and not just through Virgin making it talk to me). At one point I looked to see Diag writing something on it, and I assumed foul play, but it turned out he was actually organizing a group!

Only four towers! The two extra groups turned back when it became apparent that they had been dealt with.

Also, we pulled all the ritual stuff completely out of left field, that was not GM advance plot. They were expecting us to hit it until it stopped moving and then leg it. Bah! :)

Hehe - that means 6 groups claimed tower destruction! (Or at least that's what Bernie heard... I'm not sure listening to the end of sentences is her strong point)

And OMG about the ritual! I am impressed by the player base (esp. newvani who was GLORIOUS!

Re-reading, I realise that might be ambiguous - we put together the ritual stuff during last week's session, turnsheeting and emails, so it wasn't completely out of nowhere during the last session or anything. But still. :D
