Checked that. It seems there is no autosave on this ancient version of Quark, and that was my problem.

Ahhhhh. Yeah, there's a whole lot of programs like that. Hopefully you were able to recreate it without too much hassle. *hugs*

By any chance could you find a copy in the trash bin on your desk top or do a control. Alt delete- shutdown of the computer so your windows would offer you a few selections of what you had not saved and even files you may have saved in the windows program. Interesting stuff. Ranting is healthy.
