So I was reading an online news article about the healthcare reform bill, and one of the reader comments jumped out at me:

They should demand medical proof that Sen Byrd is really alive and mentally competent enough to vote.And let us not overlook the comment shortly below this one, saying that healthcare is a privilege, not a right, and no one

Oh, god, Dad has not shut up about healthcare reform since I got here. It's driving me CRAZY. Every night, apparently, they sit around and watch The O'Reilly Factor (TIVO'ing it if they're not home) and then a couple more hours of FOX News, and that is where they get ALL their information. Dad went on a huge rant about how he'd never go into medicine under the "new regime", it's socialism, doctors won't be able to provide the best care anymore, etc. I am so sick of hearing about it...and I still have several more days to look forward to. He did say that you can shadow him at the office with patients' consent (though the hospitals probably won't let you in), so if/when you do, be careful what you say about all this. He's very opinionated, to say the least.
