what's the big deal?

Every story needs a menace, every hero needs a villain, and every person on the internet needs something to bitch about. So here's my story; it's not as dramatic or bold or interesting as many others, but it's mine.

I'm a poor college student. That comes with it's whole gamut of issues--paying the bills (with no job) passing my classes, and finding time to do the things I love. It also means I need to be preparing for the rest of my life at some point, but with all the ever-pertinent crap which I seem to endure, there's never a time for tomorrow.

I was also dumped by my girlfriend several months ago. We'd been going out for about a year and a half, and while I'm over it now, she was my way of life for a long time and I find myself...noticing what's not there a lot. I'd really like to meet someone else, but I'm not sure I'm quite 100% ready for it--I think I've made a lot of positive changes to myself since my last stab at relationships, but obviously seeing as how I'm writing here my problems...I've still got a few.

Specifically, I'm poor, and it only takes a couple bad quarters of grades to knock me out of college. I don't feel like I have the time or money to give to someone who I'm willing to fall in love with. All I have to offer at this point is myself, which isn't much.

Of course, I'll never actually have more to offer than myself. And I'm never going to be quite 100% ready for a relationship. And life happens whether I'm ready or not. But these are my concerns on that issue.

I'd like to get a job. Really, really badly. People just aren't getting back to me. I feel useless and unemployable, demoralized and insecure. And I hate it.

So yeah. Sounds like small change, but they're my issues. And I get to live with 'em or fix 'em. So that's what I'm about.

grades, jobs, introduction, girlfriends
