WHOA

I could have sworn I saw here there once but I wasn't sure it was her and also I would have felt dumb going up to someone famous and randomly talking with them.

From what I know of them, a lot of the music that the White Strips make is directly inspired by that old-timey American folk music. A goodly portion of that tradition is gospel songs, and one big archetypal subject for a verse or two in many gospel songs is a command to Satan to leave you alone, as in "Get in Line Brother", verse three: "Now listen to me Satan, I have righted that wrong; got a one-way ticket and I'm goin' home..." Nothing satanic about that, even though it says "Satan".

Why do you even go to church if you never listen?

I remember that being from the bible... if it wasn't, I'd think it was really dirty.

Get behind me Satan, but first cut my hands apart so I can't fight back! the_4thb September 1 2005, 20:36:10 UTC
OHMAN

jesus says get behind me satan when he first tells the disciples how he is going to die on the cross. peter is saying that can't happen and jesus cant allow that to happen. then jesus says get behind me satan because peters is trying to make jesus think of himself instead of his divine purpose.
kind of weird how i remember that.
