Quick, very rare RL update: Survived a scare on campus the other day--we had reports that a man w/ a rifle (later discovered to be fake) was on campus, and it seriously had me (and others) freaked out for those few hours. Lytton: I believe I now know exactly how you felt ( Read more... )

I love this. So bonechilling. I love your descriptions, especially the part about Malachite looking almost etheral. I could picture every thing as if I were there myself. The way you incorporated the prompt was pure genious. When will the next part be coming out?

Also, please post these on .Moon and AI. Your story is so intriguing!

I'm so glad you can visualize everything and that you liked it!! It totally made my day! ^_^

I actually have no idea when the next part will be out (hopefully sooner than later) but now I'm worried it's not going to measure up to expectations. I might have to go back to the drawing board, because a lot of these comments got me thinking and critiquing my initial ideas.

Also, please post these on .Moon and AI.
I signed up for .Moon! Heh, so at least I got my foot in the door. ^^;

I most likely will post, as soon as school isn't as busy and I figure out how to work the interface. I do have an account on ffnet, but I only post multi-chapter fics up there (and this was supposed to be a one shot).

I am so glad this isn't a one shot! It's too good! And I am glad you signed up on .Moon at the very least. I love your work and more people should get to enjoy it as well.

Looking forward to the next installment but don't let the stress of pleasing everyone get to you! You're so talented, I'm sure we would be happy no matter what.

Also, I am so glad that you are alright after that scare. I was so anxious to read your piece, I skipped over that part!

This is an excellent thriller. Again your world building and how you bring the suspense to fever pitch comes to the fore.
THANK YOU!! I'm really glad it's coming across this way!

Rei has a great strength that belies her fear and I am sure she will match her adversary move for move.
That she does! She is very resilient, and after she gets over these initial gut reactions to the trauma, she'll definitely be fighting back! ^^

And thank you for the well wishes. It was exactly that, a nasty scare.

First, I am seriously fucking pissed off at whomever decided to fake a fucking campus shooting...I hope if it was someone calling in a threat so they didn't have to take an exam or something equally asinine, they are immediately expelled and sent to forced labor camp on an Antarctic ice floe.

Second, I know I've blasted you with comment bombs, but I don't think I've mentioned how I love how awesomely versatile you are...the first thing I read from you was evil Jadeite hawt-assed smut; then "Duty, Above All Else" which just made me fucking ACHE with emotion and blow my mind with world setup and imaginative backstory. THEN you kill me with Econ-one offs that are full of the irreverency of life that I was going for (and you pulled it off so well!) PLUS the kick-assed basketball shit-talking fics that show that you know how real people interact. (Like, they don't believe that their friend has a concussion!) NOW you are making me bite my nails with suspense, and it's working because everyone is acting outside of MY personal comfort zone ( ... )

I'm just really thankful it turned out to be a scare and nothing more. I don't think it was intentional either--we had mass confusion for a while.

Ahhh, thank you!! I'm very flattered!!

I wish Rei wasn't so scared but um, duh, she just got effing shot and her parents were executed, so I can't.Umm yeah, I was trying to go for power of the traumatic situation over power of her personality and show a progression. Hopefully it'll come across better next time round ( ... )

Fifth: I'm a bit hesitant, because there's a huge back story to his character (in the actual fic, not this one) and I don't want to give too much away here. But, I do need him to help Rei out, so I'm in a bit of a dilemma, because if I write him here, he'll be one dimensional. I might just have to Author Notes my way the hell outta this one. ^^;You know what might help? Sex. Just saying. (I'm kidding b/c it doesn't fit. Yet. Although the power play with Rei and Malachite is almost...sexual, in a way. Sexual as in "dominance" rather than "attraction ( ... )

Okay, okay, it was a pretty awesome shot. *grumbles* But ha, you must be happy that the Lakers went down in flames. They're definitely not looking like they should be a top contender.

I'm completely with you on that one. He kinda gets off on her fear, and the idea that he can break her. He's just warped like that.

Is it wrong that I'm kind of looking forward to Rei seeking revenge? Her as femme fatale is just really appealing to me...especially since Halifax is probably trying to help her and will be forced to put 2 + 2 together.
I really like Rei as femme fatale ... she and Mina would make an excellent team, I think. And yes, blondie isn't as innocent of a bystander as he seems to be, currently, and will have to deal w/ the ramifications of it all.

Lincecum: One track mind, my dear!! Does this mean you're a Giants fan, or just errm ... a fan of his three legs? ;)
