Book Review: Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell by Susanna Clarke

This is more of a doorstop than a book - it actually weighs 1.358 Kg so not ideal for carrying around to read on the bus.

Reviews I've seen have said things like Jane Austen meets Harry Potter.  While I can see that the language used would justify the Jane Austen comments I'd say that ( Read more... )

Hello. No, not a Circomedia person and I can't really describe myself as an aerialist as I'm very new to it and unlikely to ever become a performer.

I go to a general aerial skills class because I wanted to learn corde lisse & tissu but I kept getting sidetracked by cerceau last term which is why I've listed it as an interest.

I don't know anyone who has a second-hand aerial ring for sale. This place sell them new - www.unicycle.fr - but I've no idea what the costs are like. Good luck with finding one!

The unabriged audio book is much smaller and has the added advantage of being able to be 'read' in a car while driving. I also bought the hardback as I loved it so much i wanted my wife to read it too....and now its spreading through our friends.

The big two questions seem to be are you on Norrel or Stranges side and who would play the un-named man in a film ???

Strange's side, definitely. I've no idea who would play any of them in a film - but my cynical side suggests it'll be whoever the people holding the purse strings think will sell most cinema tickets in the US.

How on earth do all the footnotes work in an audio book?
