INORITE?

Those heaving pecs are hypnotic And I don't even know the name for those side? torso? muscles in the first gif, but OMG that's a work of fucking art. ><

There needs to be a law to require Hugh Jackman to keep the Wolverine chops and muscles at all times

Yes! ON BOTH COUNTS! \o/

I was so happy when I found her Cuba/Vietnam art because I had been wanting something with these two for the longest time. and the kink meme totally failed me on that count

She is the Vietnam to my Cuba when we cosplay and roleplay, so it all works out~

Those two are just so cute together! Historical basis pairings always excite me ^_^~

They are! People always forget there's a whole world of Communist pairing that have nothing to do with Russia or China. ^^

And historical-backed pairings are love. I keep meaning to request something on the kink meme between Prussia and Vietnam ever since I saw a BBC series on Berlin and they talked about the connection between East Germany and Vietnam in the 1960s and 70s.

A lot of awesomeness here! <3

Nice to see America paired with Aussie for a change, and that the ship's starting to gain more popularity! These days I can't stand USUK so it's nice to see different ships with America getting more recognition and fanworks. ^^

USUK drives me insane. It's such a narrow view of American history and I just hate how it stamps out any other potential pairings for both characters. England is only paired with America or France (which makes the Scotland/France shipper in me sad). Rarely do you see mentioned the two most important countries to England- Portugal and India....which is sort of understandable since there are no canon characters for those two. America gets England, Russia, Canada and sometimes France. I've yet to see a really well-written take on the US/Mexico relationship. Or anything between America and the Philippines ( ... )

My reasons why I can't stand USUK are partly history-related, and partly because of the way USUK is often treated in the fandom. Looking through some of the fanwork the impression that you get is that America is the only colony England ever cared about, and the rest are just to expand his empire. OK, that was how it worked IRL, but in Hetalia it makes England look like a horrible person who adopted nations he didn't even want just because he could. I also get annoyed at fics where Canada is a "replacement" for America. All my fury because Canada doesn't deserve that kind of treatment no matter who he looks like ( ... )

This drives me crazy, because there's so much historically wrong with that idea. Part of the problem is the way Himaruya portrayed their relationship. I mean, it makes sense why he did it the way he did as a Japanese man looking at the modern Anglo-American relationship. But historically, England didn't pay all that much attention to the American colonies until the Seven Years War. Hetalia-wise, he could only dote so much on a little colony during his civil war, Cromwell and the Restoration. Part of what led to the Revolution was the fact that the British government had ignored the colonies for so long, that Americans were all "WTF?" when the gov'nt turned it's attention to them and started demanding taxes. And as wonderfully dramatic as the "You used to be so big" scene is, the majority of the British gov'nt was all for letting the colonies go. It was only George ( ... )
