Make sure that you're getting enough protien, especially after a workout.

Muscle burn during activity is lactic acid build up, and damaged muscle fibers due to exercise simulate that burn well afterward. Muscle cramping during exercise is the result of your muscle tissue seizing due to fewer of the healthy muscle fibers being available for full contraction, and/or lack of nutrients. Potassium is good to help avoid cramping, and so is calcium! Just keep in mind that exercise did the damage, and nothing but rest and good nutrition will fix it. Palliative remedies that work for me: heat, gentle massage, gentle stretching, and believe it or not - more exercise, but on a lighter level. It sucks at first cuz it hurts, but it really feels good after a few minutes. It's an old adage that epsom salt baths are good - and they work for me like the dickens.
