Stupidity strikes again...

Some A**HOLE has managed to hack the odinist.com forums ( http://odinist.com/ )... They replaced the site with a banner for Heathens Against Hate... What a freak'n joke... I have a feeling it was a former forum member who also worked on the site at one time... Hopefully the forum will be back up ( Read more... )

While I am a staunch supporter of lynching hackers... you do have to admit it is kind of funny. Keep in mind, I have been in opposition to HAH for many years now.

Oh absolutely, I will admit I snickered at the irony ;)
But it still pisses me off...

BTW, you need to either email me your new #'s or give me a call sometime soon...

Totally ignorant question. What's wrong with HAH?

http://ww.heathen.org says "An author talks about the blind taboo that lumps certain sites as "hate" and certain others as not, and speaks as to why the "Heathens Against Hate" movement is reactionary and ill-avised. Includes a demonstration of independent morality and a transcendence of the fear of social approval ( ... )

What Brian said... though I've not been opposing HAH for nearly as long.

In fact, originally, I supported them. It took time for me to see exactly the kind of people and message they were putting forward.

I do see a problem with hate, in and of itself, or racism and the like. But I also see a problem with universalism, in and of itself, or with blindly destroying cultures and folkways to the advantage of others outside our own.

So I withdrew from HAH, and even have sent a letter asking for my old site be removed from their listing, even though I no longer use that URL.

In any case, while I vehemently disagree with their politics, I do find it a bit on the funny side... even though the guy who did it is obviously a prick, and a honorless one at that.

I was just sending a PM agreeing to expand my moderator responsibilities to that forum when it crashed! Didn’t even know until this evening that it had been received.

Anyway, action is already being taken to re-build the forum in a more secure form. A few of the insider troublemakers are being removed from the owner/moderator lists. And your comrade in the North will be taking on a much more significant role. Will make sure you know about it when it’s up and running again.

I still think the whole "Nazi threat" to Heathenry is grossly over-exaggerated.

There's been too many nuts in the Heathen community who are awfully paranoid and seem to see Nazis around every corner. Personally, I have yet to come across someone whom I felt was a true danger to Heathenry because of their "Nazi status". (Now, I *am* folkish, but I've never been part of any white supremacist political community nor do I have any desire to be so at any time, so I think I can be fairly unbiased in my observations of the Heathen community.) I *have* come across several self-proclaimed "destroyers of hate in Heathenry" who believe they need to lead some extremist campaign to rid Heathenry of the "Nazi menace". Frankly, I've found rabid "anti-racists" to be more prevalent and more of a destructive problem in our culture.

Well reading this, you can be sure that it wasn't me. Jay knew this and as much as Kathy and others would have loved to spread the rumors, they were just that. Rumors.
