Sounds awful, have you thought of just blurting it out? Say something not in a confrontational way when you are with his family, like "I wanted to have a huge get-to-gather but I didn't think you wanted to meet my family" If they are polite, they will deny even if it's true, that leaves you free to shcedule a get-to-gather whenever you wish. Once they are together they will probobally forget the resentment. Or it will erupt in bloody war :P Either way at least you did everything you could.

I'm planning on saying something if the matter comes up. You see, they have met a couple of times and my mother and his father even speak on the phone sometimes, the case is not that bad... I think this is just the side effect of the first Christmas without the boy... Hopefully will go away.
