This live journal thing, and my other portuguese blog, are helping a lot with my hunger for words! I kept diaries all my life and quitted some years ago. I didn't realized how much I missed my own babling!

You are right. It was also fascinating for me. During my 2 weeks in Lisbon I had to watch the sunrise at least once. And on one cold and windy moring at around 6am I stood at the Tejo, next to the FIL. Everything was calm, an unusual silence, the city wasn't fully awake yet. Only the day before had I heard of the Tsunami in Asia where quite many of my Taizé friends live. The river sang softly, yet also demanding. I cannot describe it. I wasn't involved in the Taizé meeting (I remember I never answered your questions, shame on me!), in fact I only knew about their existence because you guys invaded my train one fine morning!
That place near the river is really beautifull but never been there that early in the morning! That river is my favourite thing in the whole country!
