Bye, bye summer.

Yesterday we had a national holiday. We celebrated the events that turned Portugal into a republic. It used to be a sad day for me when I was litle because I wanted very much to have kings and princes in my country just like Spain or England. Silly me ( Read more... )

no you don't want kings or queens - they're far too expensive!!

You have a beach that close and have only been a few times this year - my god woman, you should be 'living' there - you're so lucky!!

You say that because you never boiled in a car with no air conditionated for half an hour while trying to find a place to park! August here is hellish! Same for July, June and September, I'k afraid. I have to go very early to avoid stress. And I like to sleep!

oooh ok - that sounds very unpleasant - I take it back about going to the beach all the time then - until they invent Star Trek style transporters!! :)

The emerald water was calm as a mirror and icy cold.....I swear the air smelled like fish from their breath
What a lovely post to read!
That day of every year when I have to accept the fact that it would be just too sadistic to myself to take another dip, is one of the saddest days of the year for me.
But the sunny days will come around again all too soon and I'll admit that I enjoy wrapping up in warm layers as much as stripping them off.

Thanks! I thought that the seagull breath was a bit too much, in fact.

I like the layers too. I once heard a fashion designer say that winter clothes are much more interesting to create because of the possibilities of mixing layers. I agree, I love my winter coats and scarfs.

I don't mind at all, I was just reading your first post and was going to ask you if I coul do the same.

I don't visit the beach that much because I never seem to find the time. I sometimes read your descriptions of walks in the sand with Igraine and feel so jealous... Why? I could do the same... minus dog. My dog lives with my parent's and her name is Moria. She hates sand!
I promise I'll slow down this year and see the waves more often.
