[2017] Introduction V. 2016 Arashi Fanfictions Award
INTRODUCTION
Same as last year, we’re going to enlist all the favourite/top fanfic last year. Once again, I would like to enlight that this award is to appreciate and encourage, never once to downgrade any writers or the works.
TIMELINE
I would not like to make this extended to the middle of the year. To make things easier, I come out with a timeline. As a reminder, it could be changed due to the fact I have my RL to prioritize.
NOMINATION PERIOD : (4 weeks) 9th January 2017 - 5th February 2017
LONGLIST & by BY AUTHOR FICS LIST : 13th February 2017
VOTING PERIOD [LONGLIST] : [4 weeks] 20th February 2017 -19th March 2017
SHORTLIST FICS LIST: 26th March 2017
VOTING PERIOD [SHORTLIST] : [2 1/2 WEEKS] 27TH March 2017 - 12th April 2017
FINAL RESULT : 14th March 2017 (In twitter 9pm GMT +9) , 15th April in 2017 (in LJ)
Extra note : There will be one week gap between the release of the longlist and voting period. As LJ poll is unable to be edited, the one week gap is secure for any corrections to be made. Readers still have a month to read all the fic and decides.

A: You send me your nomination of the fic(s) that you want to nominate via PM or comment here (will be screened).
You should mention :
(i) Fic name
(ii) Length (Oneshot/Chaptered/Multi-part) (Multi-part is a fic that was posted in the same day, but separated into 2 or more parts)
(iii) Author name
(iv) Category
(v) link (I beg all of you to provide me the link. Last year it’s pretty mess up as i don’t have the right link for the fic. For Chaptered fic, please provide me the link to the first chapter or the tag)
The fics that are eligible to be nominated must be Arashi centered (according to each category), written and posted in 1st January 2016 to 31st December 2016 except for fics posted for Aiba Exchange 2016 that is still posting the fics for the events.
The rule is not applicable for “HALL OF FAME” category.
2.How do you decide the winner?
A: I don’t decide the winner. You will.
For longlisted, it will be by the point system. You will choose 5 fics and rate them by point (5 points, 4 points, 3 points, 2 points, 1 point). Top 5 fics with highest points will be listed to the shortlisted list. If it happened to be a tie between 2-3 fics for the fifth place, those fic will be included in the shortlisted list as well.
For the Shortlisted, you will choose only 1 fic. The highest vote will be the winner for the categories.
All vote will be done via LJ poll. I couldn’t find the solution, so people will still see the number of votes but not who vote for the fic. 1LJ user/ 1 vote. Anon vote is not allowed!

4.What is “Hall of Fame” Category?
A: So, all of the fics that should be nominated should be written in the stated period (1st Jan 2016- 31st Dec 2016). Hall of Fame is for the fic that was written before that. Old fic. The Golden era of Arashi fanfic (I’m exaggerating lol). Yes. You can list them here. (That’s gonna be a lot!)
5.I’m confused on how should i nominate the fics into the categories. Can you explain?

6.How many fics can I nominate?
As much as you want. But remember to follow the rules. I might excluded the fics without mentioning it if it doesn’t fit the rule. And please, please mention me the category. Or I might missed it. :/
6.Can I nominate my own fic?
Yes. All nomination will be treat as private and confidential.
7. Can I nominate an unfinished chapter fic?
Sorry, but for chapter fic, it needed to be finished in 2016.
8. What about the chapter fic which was written from the year before 2016 but finished in 2016?
Eligible. As long as the fic finished in 2016, it is eligible.
9. Can I nominate a lock fic?
A: Depends. If the fic is locked in a community that is easy to join and accessible, YES you can. If it is locked in a personal LJ, then NO. Writers must have a reason why they locked their fics. If you would like to nominate those fics, please ask the writer to unlock their fic until the event is over.
Once again, fics that are locked by the time of due date will not be listed.
10. I don’t want my fic to be listed in this event. What should I do?
A: Writers will be given 1 week to tell me this. I will remove your fic from the list and it will not be in the polls. If the authors feel that their fic is not in the right category, you can tell me too and we’ll discuss if it’s right to move it to a different category.
