Okay. If it were true - which I'm by no means certain of - it would make me even more sure of my retreat into fanfic-lala-land ass oon as I've finished DH. Well, I'll do that anyway - but this would be such a great justification.

Thing is, I just cannot believe she would do something so stupid.

Yeah, going AU post-DH was pretty much a forgone conclusion to me too even months ago.

I also have the sneaking suspicion that some fanfics will have dealt more competently and believable with open questions and plot points than JKR will in whatever version of DH will finally appear on my doorstep on Saturday...

I'm in two minds (and still haven't read more than the end, epilogue and the Snape-parts):
- on one hand I doubt she'd fabricate something so cliche'd and annoying and simply bad taste
- on the other hand while the last books got darker they also got more filled with unacknowledged hypocrisy, moral platitudes and self-righteous authorial posturing, which makes me less sure how far she'd sink go...

Well, I haven't read anything but I agree: she shouldn't make up anything too stupid. I mean, she dropped all those wonderful hints about Snape and built up his character so well. She'd just be insane to screw him so completely. On the other hand, as you said, after OotP and HBP, I trust her to do loads of weird stuff. Maybe even something utterly idiotic.

Yeah, going AU post-DH was pretty much a forgone conclusion to me too even months ago.

I vowed to do that as soon as I'd read HBP. And well...once the series is over, what else is there to do anyway??

You may all join me, Cleopatra, in my Kingdom called AU. It is a wonderous place where death does hold no reign ;-)

I read it too.
And I am all with you. I am contemplating ticking fanmail.

My first thought was: did she just copy past crap from ff.net?

I threw up a bit in my mouth over 'Albus Severus'

Alas, from now on I am CLeopatra.

*hands over peppermint in sympathy*

I wager that years from now on grown people will flinch and twitch at the mere mention of Albus Severus Potter. You Know Who's name evoking terror in the WW will seem like childs play in contrast to fans reactions to the other name that shall not be repeated here again....

Ugh: WTF IS it with Albus Severus???

Albus Severus is one of Harry's and Ginny's Happily Ever After brood (the others are James Sirius *gags* and Lily something who dates *kill me now* Teddy Lupin - I immediately tried to forget what I'd read) and is angsting over perhaps being sorted into Slytherin on platform 9 3/4. Because we all know that a miraculously evenly chosen forth of wizarding children is a backstabbing, disgusting bunch of evil-doers at age eleven already and is thus sequestered away in Slytherin for easy separation of the nice, stable kids.... That hasn't changed in the wonderful post-Voldeworld.

Yeah, I've heard that too shortly before collapsing into bed this morning. I haven't followed that trail so far because I wasn't sure I'd be up to dealing with another debacle of the Albus Severus/pointless death by Nagini caliber in a sleep-deprived state ^_^

I also haven't seen any link on spoil_me_DH to the second version. Just mentions of it.
But it's all very exiting! ^_^ And if it's all fake stuff floating around even better - after one-sided twu luv!Severus I'll gladly take any alternative from JKR...

This might be partly the scotch speaking, BUT right now I would prefer the British Airforce to nuke Hogwarts from space (I play too much Chtulhu)
