The Jamie Bell casting is entirely down to that lust so I'd say it's served us pretty well. REALLY THOUGH I WAS IMAGINING THE VOICEOVER AS I REWATCHED PARTS OF THE FILM AND SO MANY HEARTCLUTCHY FEELINGS. I haven't actually seen Hallam Foe (for shame) but the first cap at the top is from it and well, let's guess what I'm going to be doing later this week. Too many filmographies, not enough time. also he can have this kind of low-level hostility going on that I think would be interesting in Kathy. EXACTLY. I think he would just bring some really interesting dynamics to the role ( ... )

SCOTTISH ACCENTS, EVEN MORE SOLD. Augh, I keep thinking about him doing and he would be Northern because that is so entirely necessary to me even if it fucks with continuity/slash let's just make them all Northeners to satisfy my soul. I SAW THAT CLIP. THAT CLIP IS WHAT INSPIRED MY CASTING. I so entirely do not care for anything else in this adaptation apart from Jamie, Imogen and Holliday.

ALL OF THIS. AUGH SOPHIE THIS GENDERSWAP IS ONLY CAUSING ME TO THINK WISTFULLY ABOUT MORE ADAPTATIONS. ALSO REALLY MAKES ME WANT TO WRITE GENDERSWAPPED FIC AND I'VE NOT EVEN FINISHED MY ORIGINAL KATHY/RUTH PORN YET.

ISOBEL. ISOBEL. I flailed so much when I saw the first three on Tumblr earlier because oh my god? This is completely perfect? Genderswapping is so easy and hard at the same time, and I just adore your casting. How much do I love the golden trio and Benedict Cumberbatch and Bill Nighy and I haven't seen Black Swan yet but Vincent Cassel already sounds perfect. I blame not knowing the rest due to not being British (a flaw, I know).

And the graphics are absolutely lovely, they have this pink tinge to them that's perfect for this movie (see: incredibly purple icon) and everything just works and I adore this. You win.

KLJASDLJKSDF FLAILING EVERYWHERE I LOVE YOU PAULINE. I tried really hard to think of actors that could do the roles justice the way the original cast did because augh my heart so I'm really glad you think these work.

OH MAN I LOVE THAT YOU COMMENTED ON THE PINK, YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW LONG THE COLOURING TOOK - THESE PEOPLE DO NOT HAVE ORGANISED FANSITES. I was initially going for more of a blue but I felt like swapping that with pink, given that this is technically an inversion of the original, worked?

I see it so much, though, I can see Kathy's quiet and passive qualities in Jamie Bell, Tommy going into a rage yet being so small with Ruth Negga, and Eddie Redmayne sort of watching in the back and just being so determined to want and try and say things are his. And I think I've seen like one feature with any of them, which is a shame, really. Didn't know about Ruth Negga until Misfits because she was instantly my faaaavourite and I'm hoping the only reason's she gone is because she's too good for the show - which is good, don't get me wrong, but she's amazing.

NO-ONE HAS ORGANISED FANSITES. Things I learned while browsing gallery after gallery for my genderswap. mm yeah I could see a navy, but I think the rose colour suits much better. The movie has a very golden tone to it, beige in a good way even, so it needs to be a bit different.

I LOVE THIS ENTIRE POST win win win everywhere.
