I love how I've discovered good music through the fandom. So I'm feeling in a music mood. Rec me 3 bands; old-new, rock-hip hop, I don't care. Point me towards a tune :)
Three bands/artists and songs you should look for by them :)
Guster-What You Wish For, I Spy, All the Way Up to Heaven The Replacements-Can't Hardly Wait, Favorite Thing, Left of the Dial Patty Griffin-Rain, Blue Sky, Change
Emerald Rose because they rock. If you go to their website (emeraldrose.com), there is a link to a site where you can download some of their songs. Of the ones there I recomend Castle of Arianrhod, Penny in the Well and Fire in the Head. They also headlined at the TORN party this year as well as last.
Natacha Atlas. She is one of the most stunning female artists out there. Most of what she does is in Arabic, and she is the friend of Belly dancers everywhere, but she really is incredible. If you can get your hands on Diaspora do so. It is incredible.
And Capercaillie, one of the best things to come out of Scotland (along with kilts and Billy Boyd :) ). In my opinion they are the greastest celtic band that ever was. I find their music inspiring and Karen Matheison has a voice that has been touched by god (fangirl moment). Their new album, Choice Language, is very good, but my personal favorite is probably Delirum or To the Moon.
