Okay, I can't say enough about Martin Starr. Really. I LOVE HIM. His performance as Bill (Look, I have an icon!
) in Freaks and Geeks is one of my all-time favorite comedic performances ever. He was so specific, and so real, and I felt such empathy for him as this kid that seemed utterly recognizable to me from my own school experiences. All of which made the comedy even funnier, omg. The Halloween episode where he dresses up as Jaime Sommers (aka, The Bionic Woman) and we are treated to an incredible sequence of Bill getting himself dressed and prepared before he, Sam, and Neal are supposed to go trick-or-treating. Wow. It's just MY FAVORITE.
ANYWAY. So happy he's on Community! And I have to say that his name, Professor "Cligoris," made me, in actual fact, laugh out loud. Cuz genital references are funny. True fact! That's one of the reasons this show works so well for me. It hits so many of my different comedy buttons, on so many different levels.
Ahaha, the faces of the study group as Annie introduces Annie Kim to them, oh man, they all kill me. And then Abed and Troy's reactions, like, they are on the case, something's not right here, ahahaha, oh ♥♥♥.
Oh, Britta. I loved the nemesis romance with Chang, really, thought it was hilarious. Both Gillian Jacobs and Ken Jeong got some comedic spotlight time to shine, which was cool.
Aaagh, Martin Starr is so good! His gleeful little anticipatory shudder as he realizes that he will have to spend the entire evening devising the rules of the Model U.N. Battle Royale--delightful!!
DONALD GLOVER I LOVE YOU. His Georgia accent bit is amaaaaaaazing!!
Abed's Two Earths thing is also AMAZING. ♥Abed♥ ♥Troy♥
I love, love, love what Yvette Nicole Brown does with Shirley as a character in other people's stories--she's consistently hilarious and sometimes genuinely moving--but I really hope they do give Shirley more focus and individual story this season.
Allison Brie is so good!! Her tantrum is fantastic. Oh, I just love them all!
We'll see where they go with Jeff/Annie. Jeff's speech wasn't terrible, and I've enjoyed the tension, though I really can't express enough that I don't want to deal with extended Britta-Jeff-Annie triangle stuff. I mostly trust Dan Harmon not to go there in an annoying way? I think?
I loooooove the "I farted" thing. Love it! Makes me giggle and giggle, while containing genuine emotion if you love these characters. {{{{show}}}}
Oh, shooooowww, the group's performance as a delegation from the other Earth is just so adorable, SO ADORABLE.
Britta. Oh, Britta, Britta. The doll costume is just so great.
But, okay, I am honestly just not okay with taser-based humor. I have read way too many stories about abusive use of tasers by police and security officers, and I just can't find it funny.
