Recently, leoetiquette posted about her high school boyfriend and slightly related issues. Also, fulguritus posted a high meme. I wonder if there's something in the water for our age group, because I just got an email from my high school girlfriend

It really didn't hurt that much at the time. My particular vice in my youth was being a skirt chaser. Some kids smoke, some drink, some take up drugs. I chased after women. So the break really freed up more time for me to do that. I really didn't care.

But you are right in one respect. If I had been a better boyfriend and things had worked out, I'd never have done the things I've done, been the places I've been, or seen the things I've seen. I'd be some guy with a beer belly and a minivan, forced to watch the news on TV, rather than being there for it.

Screw that.
