sympathy fishing

I sliced my fingertip off this morning at work. Well, not really the whole fingertip. Just a 1-2mm thick bit from my tip to mid-nail. Kind of hurts like a bitch. I think it's time for another dose of tylenol soon. The doctor in Emerg said it should grow back normally, but obviously it'll take some time. Anyway I'm just fishing for sympathy. Thank

thank you! It doesn't exactly tickle, but they gave me some painkillers so I've got it down to a dull throb most of the time now.

yeah, and since part of my fingernail is gone now, there's a sizeable chunk of nerve endings exposed... I hope it heals with relative speed...

yeah, I'm gross.. kinda curious to look at it and see how it's doing, but I'm not allowed to change the dressing til tomorrow night. And at the same time, I'm sure I really don't want to see what it looks like...

the painkillers are keeping it relatively numbed, but there's still some not inconsiderable pain. I've been thinking about slinging my arm, since the less I move it, the less my finger tends to hurt. But I don't really have anything to make a sling from... oh well.

I've definitely sliced my fingers before. They bleed like crazy. Very scary, not *painful* but constant.

Not a lot of sympathy, but if you give me your address I'll write you a letter. :P

definitely constant. I woke up at 6ish this morning when the painkillers had worn off, and it wasn't a fun experience. I'm hoping the worst of the damage will heal fast enough that the pain will lessen hastily...
