I learned today that one of the victims of the Virginia Tech shooting on Monday was the mother of one of my highschool classmates. I wasn't ever especially close to her, and I never knew her mother, but it feels strange to have a connection there

Oh, also... it's big news over here too. The kid being Korean, makes everyone really off balance. Korea pride and all that.

Too bad there's such a social stigma against psychology.

He's a Korean boy. He doesn't have any social problems. He's a tough kid, there's nothing wrong with him, he just has to try harder. Etc. Etc.

Therapy, disorder, or anything like that is a sign of weakness, and a disgrace to the family. Pride, honour dealio.
