Saving lives, one load of laundry at a time

Hospitals can drastically cut down on the spread of infection within and outside the hospital, at small cost, by providing personnel with freshly laundered scrubs, yet most don't. [link found at Arielle's other blog] This should be common sense and the fact that it isn't is staggering. Why bother with laundry? We'll just give everyone antibiotics! ( Read more... )

Isn't that incredible? My husband found that right after he was asking me about all the doctors and nurses that wear their scrubs out all the time. Right across the street, I see all of them congregating by the food carts. Paul naturally wondered what the heck the point of wearing scrubs is, when they would probably be cleaner in their regular clothes. They probably get washed more ( ... )

Yeah, and not allow staff to wear scrubs into the cafeteria or ON THE EL.
