Wow! Saw Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest last night. For those who don't want to know I won't say anything but since I won't get round to commenting on it over the weekend:
Umm.... did you miss the fact that Geoffrey Rush had been cast in both of the sequels? *grins cheekily*
Personally, I felt that there weren't enough ship to ship battles. I would have loved to see the Black Pearl square off against the Flying Dutchman. It would probably have been a more fair fight than the Pearl against the Interceptor.
Didn't that time as it was after 1am and they really needed to lock up! But I stayed when I saw it on Friday.
And I had noticed the casting for the second one but last time I looked at the third one the only names were the three main stars. I just dismissed Rush's casting as flashbacks and then completely forgot he had been mentioned at all. Since I no longer do Exposure Weekly (*sighs with nostalgia*) I don't really catch movie news anymore.
Plus I have been avoiding spoilers like the plague.
Perhaps the wanting more battles is a boy thing? I tend to lose interest when the fight scenes are very long.
I've seen it, i've seen it, so have finally read your post!
I enjoyed it, but didn't think it was as good as the first. They crammed an awful lot of events in without much actually seeming to happen. By the end of the film I felt a bit like I'd just been on a roller-coaster but was disappointed that this film didn't tie up any of the storylines.
I loved the added organ music, worked very well. Bill Nighy was fantastic as usual, hadn't looked up anything about the film before hand so didn't know that he (or Mr. Rush for that matter) was in it, but it didn't take long to recognise him - something in the mouth and the expression :)
Don't know if I approve of bringing back Barbosa, although he was a good character in the first film I think maybe he should have been left there.
Oh well, roll-on the 3rd film...how long do we have to wait?

What puzzles men most? The dichotomy of good and evil of course!
Wasn't the thin gay pirate great?
