The Big Read top 100 meme

The Big Read reckons that the average adult has only read 6 of the top 100 books they've printed.
1) Look at the list and bold those you have read.
2) Italicize those you intend to read.
3) Underline the books you really love (and strikethrough the ones you hate!).
4) Reprint this list in your own LJ so we can try and track ( Read more... )

The Pullman books aren't too bad (actually the second one is a trifle boring) and there are some interesting concepts considered in them... look to my LJ in abit (I'll make a rare post and do the list :-) )

*glomps* You're still alive! Haven't spoken to you in ages! *huggles* I've been meaning to get in touch for a while - the card I sent you for Xmas got returned. Have you moved?

Hey, I have a question for you. Several questions, actually. Firstly, what type of editorial work are you doing, exactly? I think you mentioned changing the formatting to meet requirements? Secondly - I'm marking undergrads' homework for the first time, and I'm a little shocked by how much more charitable and forgiving I feel towards them when they can actually write English (which doesn't happen often, let me tell you). So I was wondering if this happens to professional editors as well - or does one get used to it, or is it not really an issue by the time a paper's been submitted and has been through a million rewrites?
