To anyone thinking of studying abroad for some period of time and then trying to get a job in the US: Think carefully about whether you want to go through a huge rigmarole getting your foreign degree evaluated. Oh crap. Good luck, R-man did an engineering degree in the 'States and then his PhD at Oxenfrodo and I recall he had a heck of a time convincing people that Oxenfrodo was a proper and accredited university ;)

That is disturbing and sad. I'm going to have an even harder time with Leeds University if people don't even know the credentials of Oxenfrodo. *headdesk*

O_O foreign degrees are not automatically recognized? Leeds is a credible university afterall ^^; it's not simply a case of the HR person being a painintheposterior? XD

It's basically to give more people jobs translating and giving people who don't know anything about foreign universities assurance that YES, you did to similar coursework as you would in the US of A.

yay! i'm glad it it didn't take two weeks ^_^ you had to sign for it coz i was afraid it'd go walkies otherwise ^^; *does not trust the postal system* .... d-d-display it? and i thought it was only good for wearing XD

Don't worry... if this makes you feel better in any way, my Med mark will be automatically set to a standard grade THAT IS THE SAME FOR ALL FOREIGNERS if I decide to do the speciality in my homeland. Basically, a 10 in a 0-20 scale.
