I feel a little hypocritical for saying this given that I'm great at dishing out the anger and my first thought at hearing about Osama bin Laden's death was "I wonder how this will play out politically" but I'm a little uncomfortable with the unbridled glee and bloodlust people are greeting this news with ( Read more... )

I'm surprised that you of all people would say "and that poor woman." It implies that she's weak and needed protecting when, in fact, all accounts say that she "fought back furiously" (Robin Roberts, GMA 2011.05.4) and "ran right towards them" (George Stephanopoulos).

So, which is it - are women equal to men, deserving equal rights and pay, or different, to be treated specially?
