Going away; receding.
I’m always left behind,
Never able to be with him.
He was always unpredictable,
Moods constantly changing.
He could be warm and gentle,
Then cold and distant the next.
Restless as the sea,
Always coming and going,
Calm then violent.
Like an ocean…
His love he continued to
give and take back,
Confused; distraught, torn,
Yet warm; true, full.
Now I sit here alone,
In the silent still night.
My memories drifting through
Like a gentle evening breeze.
Raising my head,
Emotion overpowers me
As I listen and hear the waves,
They remind me of something…
They remind me of you, Jay.
The waves rush to shore but quickly recede,
Only to come rushing back.
You’re like the ocean in that sense,
And that’s why I know that
One day, you’ll come back to me.
