On the 29th, Arashi held their rehearsal for the "64th NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen" at NHK Hall located in Tokyo, Shibuya.

In the past few "Kohaku", Arashi has shown their collaborative performances with the newest technology, such as projection mapping and AR (augmented reality). This year as well, NHK's Chief Producer Yamada Ryosuke has opened to the press that Arashi's performance will be a new sensational "challenging stage".

By projecting laser light beams and 3D images onto a transparent curtain called "shamaku", it will create an atmosphere as if you time traveled to the near future and will produce an even more fantasy-like aspect to Arashi's cool performance. A costume change illusion linked with footage, and a great impact born from the stage moving outwards. It is sure that these many stage directions will not bore the viewers.

In the press conference before the rehearsal, Matsumoto conversed that "the set will move during the songs, so it looks like the stage is alive."

With the theme "Song is Here", the "64th NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen" will include 51 groups from both the red and white team combined. For the hosts, Ayase Haruka will serve for the red team and Arashi for the white team for 4 consecutive years.

December 31 from 19:15 to 23:45 with a 5 minute news interruption.
