snow began to fall. I decided to rest as soon as I could find some sort of shelter. With a few more minutes walk and labored breathing, I came upon an odd fellow. He was standing in the middle of the road wearing naught but a hat, engaged in some sort of complicated theatrics I could hardly understand. I edged off the road to rest against the trunk of an oak tree that was as thick as time. The snow continued to meander down, but this fellow carried on with his performance and I tried to make a study of him as I refreshed my breath
