Richard Posner (a judge on the 7th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals) is freaking me the fuck out. I've read a lot of opinions penned by Posner, and have always really liked what he's had to say. I even thought he might be a nice name to toss into the Supreme Court nomination hat.

yah I'm rather happy about both the ANWR and the patriot act happenings of yesterday. Although I'd rather they just got rid of the patriot act instead of extending it for 6 months. Oh well ... baby steps ...

It is nice to see the dems leadership finally stepping up and making somewhat of a stand for a change though.

You gotta love Barbara Boxer, though. That chick is tough. Did you know she was one of like three Senators who voted against authorizing use of force in Iraq? She was also one of two (allong with Ohio's Tubman) who refused to verify the election results, due in large part to the voting irregularities in OH.

...but I like that Dean is chairman, and it looks like people like Harry Reid and Boxer have the cajones to stand up and try to make a difference around Washington.
