how to go from this to



first i take this picture of naomi watts.
i resize it 50% and then i resize it again 50%. and since it's still too big, i'll resize it 50% one more time.
then i'll flip it horizontally and sharpen the image, to get


it' looks a bit too dark, so i'll duplicate the layer and set it to screen 40%


then i'll make a new base 100x100 px and draw a line with the colour #757575 and this is what i get


next i'll take a piece of the picture of naomi and paste it on the base like this


now i'll take the same image, i just pasted on my base and paste it as a new image
then i'll make a new layer and set it to colour 100% and fill it with #FFFFFF
then i'll merge the layers on the new picture and paste it on my original icon like this


now on to the textures
first i'll take this (made by me)


paste it as a new layer and set it to multiply 60%


next i'll take this (again made by me)


and paste it as a new layer and set it to exclusion 70%


now i'll take this (made by me)


and i'll paste it as a new layer and set it to burn 20%


then i'll take this texture, which i got from _twilighticons_ and flip it horizontally and then vertically to get


i'll paste it as a new layer and set it to screen 70%


no the background is dark form all the textures and stuff, so i'll use the selection tool to select everything but the pictures, like this


now i'll take this texture made by me


(it's actually just white, but never mind that ;P)
and paste it into the selection


now i'll merge all the layers
the icon looks still a bit dark to me, so i'll duplicate the layer and set it to screen 30%


now i'll add some text
georgia 5pt bold caps- save me and georgia 3pt bold caps- from the beast (colour- black)


and i'm done!
