Do you still have your light gun? I have an orange one. Why couldn't you shoot the dog, even if you had two bullets left?

Oh my gosh, I don't know if I still have it... when i got kicked out of my parents house I lost control of all my belongs... including my ancient nintendo and atari. And I am not sure who you are, but I always wanted to shoot the dog. It never worked. The dog would mock me.
