Time to be crafty...

I've decided to replace the mobile altar (aka "the Porta-Pagan") that I had back in college. Essentially, a tall wooden box with reasonable storage space and some handles. (No carrying straps, but this will do.)

But now I need to decorate it...and I'm at a loss for what to do with it. I'm thinking of a dark green, with a black tree of life on the ( Read more... )

Maybe think of what each of those four sides represent to you, to find inspiration in how to decorate them? Like, are they the four directions, four stages of life (seed, flower, fruit, silence), four totems, etc.?

That's the problem - 4 isn't all that big for me. I mean, there's 2 seasons, 3 realms, 5 legendary cities, 7 (or 9 or 11...ish) elements... ::shrugs::

I suppose I could just say screw it, forget that there's sides, and just make it one big image that just keeps on going (as if it were round instead of mostly-square)...just runs into the "I'm not that great of an artist" thing again. But I'll keep thinking at it, I've got some time to work on it. :)

Perhaps this is just my inner pagan geek speaking, but how about 5 small pentacles in the classic 5 pattern from a D6? I leave color selection purely in your hands for this one ^_^
