I have found a new decadence. It's a place called The Melting Pot. allardk and I went there over the weekend, and I can't say enough good things about it

I think its a chain restaurant. There's one in a swanky shopping area of Costa Mesa out here, but I've not visited it yet. The menu prices scared me off.

Yeah, it is, from what I've seen. The prices are pretty nuts - a single meal can give sticker shock, so it's *definitely* not an average place to go to. But for rare, special occasions, it might be worth it. I was really impressed with the food, start to finish, so the quality is definitely up there.

Yeah, when I saw the one near mswae's parents' place in Baltimore, I was excited. I only realized it was a chain when they opened one here, at which point I became less excited. But it sounds like it might be worth a visit.

If you make a reservation for one of their special events, it's less expensive for the full 4 course fondue meal than other nights. The menu is sometimes more limited, but still good - and you support a good cause just by eating happily.
