So I had my first case of gastric torsion (something really bad for dogs, fatal in most case) and it really hit me hard

it's normal to be sad about that. I dunno if it'll get easier but you'll get used to it.

yea, i was told we get "numb" over the time, but some cases will always hit us hard.

I was also told, we never forget our first yellow code that we managed, and that didn't make it. Our job is to make every vets, tech and anything else jobs easier, so we deal with the clients and the dogs, we see both the best and worse in people... but seeing a dog in so much pain, just hits me :(

yeah it's normal. I doubt I could handle that.. but try to think of the one you'll save and hopefully it'll make it worth it!

I know its hard now but it will get easier. You just have to think as much as possible on the better side of the job.
