I will never ever ever understand racial cliques. I guess it's probably because I grew up with no sense of racial identity because it wasn't until a few months ago that my family found out some of our ancestry. But it took so long to establish that sort of concept, my brain just filled in the blank when I was a kid by basically saying, well no shit everyone has different features and skin colors, if they didn't nobody would be able to tell each other apart

Though it sucks to be doing something you think is ok and everyone else looks at you and tells you it's rude, and you're like "whut?".

Honestly, I am not that hopeless about humanity. It's strange, on one hand I see all the evils of humanity but on the other I want to help those who are the victims of such things. Rather than say "screw the world" I want to help others and hope that this example of an endangered form of compassion and understanding will give a good example to others.

Recently I noticed someone who was being harassed by his ex-girlfriend online and often made somewhat melancholy posts about his mood on tumblr, and received no comments on the matter. So I sent him a private message asking simply "Are you ok?" and it opened up a very good conversation about our feelings, weaknesses, and what we've gone through. And I hardly even know who this person is.
