This is me ranting about TD Bank. I have a youth account and they sent me a "you've reached the Age of Majority" and they want me to change accounts. Hell no! I've still got one more year until I'm 19 and I deserve to be a youth for one more year. No monthly fee! I called them at like 11:40 am today and I'm *still* waiting for the guy's return call ( Read more... )

Me too. Stupid monthly fees and nonexistent interest rates. If I want to not lose money I'll stuff my cash in the mattress!

Banks are dumb. I just went to the bank to get my debit limit raised so I can buy textbooks without carrying around great wads of cash *meh*. Luckily it went smoothly. :) But still, banks are dumb a lot.

I just called them today and they told me that the Age of Majority in ontario is 18... Which means that the letter wasn't a mistake?

I'm so confused. Do you think they'll make me change my account or not let me use my debit card?

hey areiyu

i went through the same thing in august when i turned 18 - went to bank, they sent me home with nothing new.

then in november they closed my account. i spent an hour changing stuff at a toronto branch. it was annoying, but at least the lady was really nice.

Why isn't age of majority 18, though? Shouldn't it be? I mean, just 'cause we can't purchase alcohol or cigarettes...

We can vote, we can get married, we can sign contracts etc etc etc at 18, why shouldn't the bank use 18 as age of majority? Doesn't that make sense?
